vInspired is close to my heart and as a mother of a young adult, I applaud any company that actively helps youngsters to become more employable.
Unemployment is one of the biggest issues facing young people in the UK today, with nearly 17% of 16-24 year olds currently unemployed. With so much untapped talent out there, this is just isn't acceptable. This is why leading youth volunteer charity, vInspired, are committed to helping as many young people as possible get the skills, experience and opportunities they need to enter and progress in the job market.
They do this through taking action on the issues they care about; and this is more than volunteering in local communities. vInspired help young adults set up businesses, organise events and develop innovation. They provide a whole range of opportunities that will give young people the work skills they need and the confidence to realise their potential. Some of vInspired's successes include:
- 75% of the young people Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET), who completed their Talent programme have been successful in securing regular employment
- Supporting and advising over 10,000 young people with their Job Jumpstarter Pack
- Providing young people with the opportunity to progress from volunteering into employment through their Task Squad platform
At vInspired, once young adults have worked up enough 'time based' activities, they make the Task Squad shortlist. Task Squad unlike any other recruitment agency, find vInspired members short term opportunities with participating companies - no agency fees, just a transparent hourly rate.
I hope this demonstrates some of the fantastic work that vInspired do in helping young people develop positive and stable futures for themselves. I am pleased to announce that the charity have been selected to be part of The Big Give Campaign to help meet their funding target. If you feel as passionately as we do about young peoples' futures, we hope you will support in the campaign.
vInspired are initially looking for a total pledge of £5,000 and if they reach their target, any online donations will be matched, in effect doubling the value of pledges - the more pledges, the more young adults will be reached and placed into work.
