Meet the Team: Paul Davies – Reward Analyst

Posted on 30 August 2024 by Paul Davies

1. What initially drew you to a career within Reward, and why did you choose this field?

I’d spent about 10 years working in HR, in generalist roles, and I’d started to think about a change. I initially passed over the job advert for my role, however the more I thought about it, the more interesting the opportunity sounded. Reward is a key part of employment, arguably the most important motivator for work for many people, and being able to have a positive impact on this was a no-brainer. Reward Consultancy provides an opportunity to get creative in providing solutions and enable companies to be fair and equitable with their rewards/benefits. My role allows me to be curious about data and make some insightful findings.

2. Which skills are you excited to bring to your role at Innecto?

My background in HR means I have an appreciation for the work our clients must put in, and therefore I am in a good position to support them. I also have a curious mind and enjoy looking into the details of data to find out what the real story is.

3. What motivated you to join our team at Innecto?

The more I went through the interview process, the more excited I was to hopefully be offered the opportunity to work at Innecto. It was clear that the team is close-knit and works hard for each other. It’s clear that everyone is not only given the opportunity to progress but is actively encouraged to do so.

4. What sort of company is Innecto to work for?

It’s a really positive place to work and a real team atmosphere. Everyone gets involved to make sure tasks are shared fairly. We meet regularly to feedback and update the team. Our employee benefits offer is great as well, and I’ve found the brilliant family-friendly policies to be amongst the best I’ve seen.

5. What aspects of your role are you most excited about diving into?

I’m really looking forward to the variety of different projects and clients that we get to work with at Innecto. Whether that’s analysing data in Excel, benchmarking roles using our in-house Innecto Digital tools, or researching the latest trends to support writing a blog, I know no two days will be the same.

6. What advice do you have for aspiring Reward professionals?

I’d say if you’re interested, just go for it. You may not have all the skills immediately, but you’ll get every opportunity to learn them. Everyone in the team comes from a different background so there is no single route into Reward consultancy.

7. Which series/book are you hooked on?

I always enjoy a fantasy series. I’m currently about halfway through the ‘Wheel of Time’ books, which I started whilst waiting for the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ (Game of Thrones) books to finally get written! On TV I’m always excited for a new season of ‘Stanger Things’ or ‘Last Chance U’ on Netflix.

8. What does your 5-9 look like after your 9-5 job?

I’ve always tried to chill out after work and don’t tend to do too much (I get all my fitness/active stuff out of the way in the morning). I’ll usually cook dinner and maybe do some “life admin”, but with a newborn baby girl, I’ve been navigating a whole new routine!
