Watch our Spring Webinar Series recordings

Posted on 09 July 2020

Our Spring Webinar Series has now drawn to a close. During the series, we welcomed some excellent guests, including Valerie Hughes-D'aeth, Duncan Brown, Michael Cope, Lorna Bains and Carolyn Walker, who all, alongside Innecto's own Justine Woolf and Sarah Lardner, gave some key insights to help HR leaders tackle the challenges facing them not only today but also further down the road.

If you were unable to join us for the live shows, or if you would perhaps like to watch them again, you can now access all four recordings online - simply click the image to watch.

Building Trust Through Transparency, with Justine Woolf and Valerie Hughes-D'Aeth

Valerie, who led the BBC HR team through the fallout experienced from the initial publication of salaries of the highest earners and the equal pay claims that followed, very kindly agreed to join us to share some of her experiences, particularly around changing the focus to rebuild trust around pay and how we use this learning now as we not only deal with an active crisis but what we need to consider as we emerge out the other side.

We are clearly going through challenging times right now and whilst the focus for many of us is managing re-actively to the challenges thrown at us on a daily basis, it is really important that we don’t lose sight of the need to ensure our pay practices and responses are seen as fair on an individual level.

The True Value of Roles, with Justine Woolf, Duncan Brown and Michael Cope

The focus of our second Spring Webinar follows on from one of our recent blogs that examined the value of roles – particularly those performed by people now recognised as ‘key workers’, especially in the NHS.

Many of these roles have been undervalued in society for a long time, but why? There are calls coming from all segments in society to move beyond clapping and badges to change the pay and conditions for these roles after the crisis abates, but what can we practically do about it?

Justine is joined by Independent adviser, Principal Associate IES, Visiting Professor University of Greenwich, Duncan Brown, as well as Michael Cope, Reward Lead at The Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Transact, Transition, Transform: The Journey to Organisation Change, with Sarah Lardner and Lorna Bains

In the third installment of our Spring Webinar Series, Sarah Lardner is joined by independent consultant and experienced CPO Lorna Bains, to discuss the journey ahead and the support available to HR leaders who are reframing their people strategy and organisational design in response to the new economic climate.

Sarah and Lorna share their experience of not only what can be done, but also how to execute it, ensuring that leaders and line managers are approaching it correctly and employees are treated fairly during the process.

The Changing Landscape of Pay and Reward, with Sarah Lardner and Carolyn Walker

Our Director of Innovation and Senior Principal Consultant, Sarah Lardner, is joined by Carolyn Walker, Human Resources Operations Director at Randstad, to discuss how organisations can best navigate the changing landscape of pay and reward. Innecto is already starting to deal with virtual and pivoting organisations. We are encouraging our clients to have an eye on what is coming down the line, in terms of recruiting for new or completely different roles entirely, understanding market premiums on what could be hard to source and expensive skills, understanding global market rates and cost of living differentials for their mobile or adapted workforce and whether they need to even think about that, and lastly understand the potential costs to the business of losing key and expensive skills and having to re-hire them in. The webinar is to arm the participants with insight into what is coming down the line or potential war on talent, identify some key triggers and ask the right questions of their senior leadership team to act quickly to not be left behind and be caught out.
