As a leading provider of employee benefits, wellbeing resources and services, we are delighted to share our enhancements to our maternity, adoption and paternity leave policies effective January 1, 2024.
What does this mean for our employees?
For Personal Group employees this means they can benefit from increased enhanced maternity and adoption pay that has doubled from 8 to 16 weeks and enhanced paternity leave and pay from 2 to 4 weeks. In line with government legislation starting from April, partners will have the flexibility to take Paternity leave either consecutively or in blocks of 1 week up to the baby's first birthday.
Perhaps the most notable aspect of these changes is that this will be available as a day-one benefit for all colleagues, without any service eligibility requirements. This initiative underpins Personal Group's commitment to becoming an employer of choice by prioritising the wellbeing of our employees and supporting them in their journey through parenthood.
In addition, and ahead of the implementation of the Neonatal Care (Leave and Pay) Act due in 2025, our maternity leave policy also includes a provision for 12 weeks of paid Neonatal leave from day one of employment.
Claire Harbord, Chief People Officer says: "I am so pleased to be able to support our PG parents, from the very first day they join us, during the crucial first year following the birth or adoption of a child and to be providing more paid time off and support systems for employees during challenging times such as the worry of having a child in neonatal care."
Jess Wort, B2B Marketing Manager at Personal Group for nearly five years, expressed her appreciation, stating: "The enhanced maternity benefit is such a boost for working parents at PG, and given the heightened cost of living, as well as the high cost of childcare, it’s been welcome news for our family."
Furthermore, Personal Group ensures that pregnant employees are provided with the necessary support and flexibility during this significant life event. The company encourages employees to notify their line managers and the People Team as soon as possible to facilitate a smooth transition and address any health and safety concerns promptly.
Claire enthused: “These progressive enhancements to maternity, adoption, and paternity leave policies reinforce Personal Group's dedication to creating a supportive and inclusive workplace, where employees feel valued and empowered to balance their professional and personal lives effectively. There are more exciting enhancements and additions to our family-friendly suite of support resources to come so watch this space.”
