Managing your pay review in 2013

No doubt you are either in full swing or about to embark on your pay review process.  Setting a budget and distributing it among your employees sounds straightforward but the practicalities can make the task more than a little frustrating.  You need to balance factors such as inflation, salary movement in the market, fairness and affordability for the business.  On top of that you need to engage your directors, managers and employees in the process and give them the support, tools and information they need.

Drawing on our experience of running pay reviews for clients and as in-house HR professionals we have developed ‘PayMatters’ a set of pay review tools to help your business make use of Excel’s formulas and analytics without having to be an advanced Excel user.  These are:

Innecto Pay Modeller – this allows you to model different budgets as well as auto-allocate pay increases to employees. This can be based on their position in your pay ranges, their latest performance rating or a combination of both.  It also shows the distribution of employees and it makes tracking how your budget is being spent really easy.

Innecto Pay Reviewer – this provides a place for managers or HR to enter salary increases and track  their spend by department, using Excel formulas and analytics set up by Innecto’s specialist analysts but requiring no complex input from the user.
